Tammy Barker is a government auditor in Washington DC, with plans to retire in early 2029.
Her favorite place as a kid was the library, getting lost in both plain and exotic locals. She started reading anything she could get her hands on. Word has it when Tammy was moving from Northern Virginia to Virginia Beach at the age of six, she was upset because the movers needed to put the encyclopedia she was reading in a box. She started crying, and the mover took a piece of paper and placed the book in the top of the last box loaded. When they got to their new house, the mover opened the box, handed it to Tammy, who immediately went to a corner, sat down, and started reading again.
Tammy believes she was born too late, because she favors the 1930s and 1940s eras for movies, and her music consists of the 1940s to early 1960.
When she’s not working or hiding in some mystery, she cooks, bakes, does minor household repairs, plays classical piano, does crafting, and takes beaten up furniture and other items cleaning, fixing, refurbishing them, and making up their history of course.
Tammy is a member of Sisters In Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Women’s Fiction Writers Association, participates in Nanowrimo when she can, and tries to go to the Malice Domestic conference each year.
Tammy’s children have all grown and moved away, leaving her alone with her husband in Northern Virginia.
